Capacity Building
The capacity building and institutional development issue is a major obstacle to all institutions of African countries including Somalia. Capacity building and institutional strengthening in all sectors will provide a strong foundation for implementing sustainable development programs. Our efforts are to develop local institutional capacity to manage and to implement employment projects. Individual agencies such as community based organizations, and professional associations, have been conducting activities to strengthen the skills and aptitude of public servants across all agencies.
- Achieving and sustaining reasonable living standards will require the building of strong security institutions and developing the competence of qualified cadres of staff at all levels. This will enable the creation and adoption of better policies and strategies through
- Establishing and strengthening of the systems and processes of strong security institutions;
- Developing of national capacity, skills, knowledge and aptitudes
- Strengthening partnerships with private sector, NGOs, and civil society organizations.
- Establishing an Early Warning system, and improving the efficiency of response to natural disasters and emergency situations.
- Increasing the participation of civil society organizations, and all potential NGO partners, in the provision of security services.
The Center carries out research and development programs focused on improving agricultural productivity and sustainability in marginal environments.
We use a multi-pronged approach to addressing the closely-linked challenges of water, environment, income, and food security including research innovations in the assessment of natural resources, climate change adaptation, crop productivity and diversification and policy analysis. The Center is transferring a number of technology developments including the use of land and water management technologies.
